A TORCH screen is a panel of tests for detecting a set of viral and parasitic infections in pregnant women. During pregnancy, there are high chances of passing this infections from mother to the fetus through the placenta. Early detection and treatment can prevent various complications in the child like heart defects, mental retardation and movement disorders. TORCH 10 also identifies HSV II infection, which causes congenital diseases.
